Products and process equipment with flow-through of fluids may be at risk of clogging. This can be calcification in a heat exchanger or dairy products forming clumps during processing. 3D X-ray techniques offer insights into structure at a microscopic or even molecular level. As such, they have the power to reveal “how”, “why” and “how fast” a clogging phenomenon occurs. The techniques offer an “extended workbench” towards improvements in solutions, life time assessments, documentation for customers, or spare part needs.
