X-rays, neutrons and food

The Food Science workshop aims to enable the discussion of how advanced X-ray and neutron techniques can benefit the Danish food and ingredients industry. There is a large potential of using X-rays and neutron methods to obtain innovative solutions to challenges and to develop better products for the food consumer market. In this workshop, several scientists in the industry and academia will present examples of how these techniques are already being used to investigate food and ingredients related problems.

Date: 12 September 2019

The transition to a circular economy requires companies to adopt sustainable and resource-efficient industrial practices. By shifting from the traditional linear "take-make-dispose" model to a circular one that promotes recycling, reusing, and remanufacturing, industries can reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize environmental impact. A new European project, ReMade@ARI, brings together research infrastructures and service providers in a significant initiative that will assist in this transition.
The workshop will lay out successful cases, new industry engagement models and will host discussion groups on how industry should most efficiently take advantage of the advanced analytical techniques available at Research Infrastructures for materials characterization in EU.
