A neutron afternoon at FOOD

A neutron afternoon at FOOD

The overall goal of this workshop is to get an overview of principles and capabilities of three types of neutron-based methods with particular focus on soft matter and food material science.

The three methods are:

·         Small-Angle Neutron Scattering – bulk structure at a mesoscopic scale of about 1–100 nm
·         Neutron Reflectometry – a technique for measuring the structure of thin films
·         Inelastic Neutron Scattering – for studying atomic and molecular motion particularly of hydrogen

The transition to a circular economy requires companies to adopt sustainable and resource-efficient industrial practices. By shifting from the traditional linear "take-make-dispose" model to a circular one that promotes recycling, reusing, and remanufacturing, industries can reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize environmental impact. A new European project, ReMade@ARI, brings together research infrastructures and service providers in a significant initiative that will assist in this transition.
The workshop will lay out successful cases, new industry engagement models and will host discussion groups on how industry should most efficiently take advantage of the advanced analytical techniques available at Research Infrastructures for materials characterization in EU.

This is a free event but registration is required!
